I for one am so sick of going out in bad weather to vote - it's always horrible weather, and in early February, you can count on it. I vote for late March or early April. February is simply ridiculous in northern counties.

Late March and April sound good; for weather reasons, people being in town and such. Not much else needs to be said.

As the previous times election judge, hoping to be the election judge this time also, I would appreciate to have this election in February. Money, money, money. So, at that point of view, the sooner-the better..
Forgive me my narrow mindness, but food, unfortunately, is the vital necessity, and the unavoidable one.

Is the Tribune wrong, or have I not been maying much attention?

"Candidates will begin circulating petitions for the Feb. 2, 2010, Democratic primary in August unless the date is changed by lawmakers—giving Burris and Quinn little time to establish a record to persuade voters they should win nomination."

I'd say April. Nice enough weather and since University is still in session, the majority of people would likely still be in town before summer break.

Anyting later than June would be potentially problematic for the Election Authorities.

If I had a choice it might be May. Indiana already does that. It would shorten the campaign by a couple months and ensure voting in nonsnowy conditions.

Yep, I'd be for that for both of the reasons you mention.
